Artist in the field of Visual Arts and Entertainment Disciplines graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. By virtue of her training, Amalia Maffei has developed a unique aesthetic sensitivity. His skills extend to a wide range of disciplines, finding expression not only in illustration but also in animated video, moving image and dance. This plurality of interests and passions contributes to creating a complex and stimulating artistic fabric, in which Amalia expresses herself with mastery and originality and which clearly manifests itself in her work.

Love for body movement

He acquired a series of skills in the field of contemporary dance, a passion developed during his years of training at the Belfiore contemporary dance school in Turin, where he refined his skills and expanded his knowledge through internships and training in various techniques, including Cunningham Technique, Dance Floor Work and Contact Improvisation. To further broaden his artistic background, he studied Theaterdance with established professionals such as the performer Dario la Stella, the choreographer Olimpia Scardi, the Compagnia Sonenalè and Aldo Rendina. These experiences have enriched her creative approach, inspiring her to explore new expressive territories in contemporary dance.

She has obtained a card recognized by CONI to teach contemporary dance, demonstrating dedication and commitment to educating and sharing her knowledge with others. Furthermore, she has a specialization in dance movement therapy, an approach that uses movement and dance as therapeutic tools to promote physical and mental well-being. In addition to his work as an artist and his skills as a dance teacher, he is also a teacher of pictorial, scenographic and graphic disciplines in the art high school for adults. Through this activity, he shares his deep knowledge of art with students, offering them a hands-on and engaging experience that helps them better understand artistic practices.

I am a visual storyteller and use the movement of my body as a language, with the distinctive ability to reinterpret and adapt the events of everyday life. Through the use of video, I try to communicate a deep awareness of body language and social dynamics. Each choreography reflects a reflection, with a well-defined thought on themes that are close to my heart, such as the expression of freedom through the body and the representation of social issues.

A deep interest in global issues is rooted in my unique and engaging background working in prisons, where I have had the opportunity to interact with a variety of individuals from different backgrounds. Through this experience, I have gained an acute awareness of the social challenges and disparities that affect people.

Furthermore, my commitment to adult education has enriched my understanding and empathy towards global issues. Working with people who seek to build new perspectives on life and continuous learning, I have developed a particular sensitivity towards the challenges that many face in trying to improve their living conditions.

This unique combination of experiences has shaped my artistic vision and inspired the creation of works that not only tell visual stories, but also act as bridges to global understanding. Art thus becomes a powerful tool to raise awareness, connect and promote deeper reflection on how global issues affect the lives of individuals from every corner of the world.

Each cartoon I create brings with it a clear reflection, with well-defined thoughts on issues that I consider fundamental, such as war and the problem of migrants.

My ironic representation aims to highlight the complexity of human reactions to others, highlighting the need to overcome prejudices and recognize the nuances in social issues.

Furthermore, I seek to highlight the challenge of dealing with global reality, suggesting that we are sometimes limited in our ability to see and understand what is happening beyond our expectations.
